Sergey Gordeev, New York, N.Y pursued a dual career in music composition/performance and public relations specialist. His sacred music compositions have been performed in churches throughout the U.S. and his scores for ballet and modern dance have been premiered toured throughout the U.S., Brazil, and Europe. He regularly performs as a pianist in New York City.
As a public relations specialist, Mr. Gordeev has worked with Jazz at Lincoln Center, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, DanceBrazil, and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. In 1999, together with Larissa and Gennadi Saveliev, Mr. Gordeev launched Youth America Grand Prix - an international student ballet and contemporary dance scholarship competition, which in eight years has become the largest in the world. His articles about dance have been published in major international dance publications in the United States, Canada, Russia and Europe, and his translation of “Pas de Deux: a Textbook on Partnering” by Nikolai Serebrennikov is available in print in the U.S. He has lectured and taught at universities in the U.S. and abroad, spoken at international events on a variety of topics, appeared on major international TV networks, and served as an emcee for numerous dance-related events. He currently continues to perform as a pianist and to offer his PR consulting services to dance companies worldwide, also serving as the Director of Public Relations and External Affairs for Youth America Grand Prix.

Amy Robins Dempsey will participate in the "No Foolin Open House & Art Show, scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2006. This open house is Dempsey's first built project. She designed one of the two houses and acted as the general contractor for both houses on display.
Recently, Eric Batch '97 and seven SU friends became partners by forming BMU, a business services group aimed at assisting liberal arts colleges and community-based organizations. "It's very much in its infancy, but we are already positioned to offer financial services and consulting expertise."
