Support SU With New Electronic Fund Transfer Program IT IS EASY BEING GREEN! Alumni can now support Southwestern and the environment at the same time. Beginning with last month's Class Agent letters, SU has begun offering the option of making gifts via electronic funds transfer, or EFT. There are numerous benefits to Southwestern and to the environment: It's green, with less paper involved (no pledge reminders, fewer appeals). It's cost-effective, allowing SU to make the most efficient use of its resources (less postage, less paper). It's easy. Once you've signed up, you won't have to bother with writing checks or calling with your credit card number. It's easier on your wallet by allowing you to make your gift in smaller payments. It's secure--all electronic transmissions are encrypted. It promotes consistent annual gifts by eliminating confusion over whether you've made a gift in the current fiscal year. It allows the University to know in advance a portion of gift revenue that can be expected over time.
And, most importantly, it's a way of supporting a stellar educational experience for students! To sign up or request more information, visit http://www.southwestern.edu/development/make-a-gift.html, or contact the Annual Fund office at 800-960-6363.
Pirate Athletics Last weekend, Southwestern Volleyball Team's overall record moved to 17-3 at an open conference tournament at Trinity University. Southwestern defeated Rhodes, Millsaps, Hendrix, and lost only to Trinity University in four games.
Over the weekend, the SU Men's Soccer Team defeated two conference rivals, Sewanee and Centre, moving their record to 6-3. This Friday, October 3, 4:00 p.m., they compete against conference opponent Millsaps College on the Southwestern Varsity Fields.
On Saturday, September 20, the Southwestern University Men's Cross Country Team gave Coach Francie Larrieu Smith her first ever win as a head coach at the 7th annual Luke's Locker DBU invitational cross country meet.
